Committee endorses designation for community assistance program (Resolution 25-14R)

The Skagway Municipality Finance Committee voted to recommend that the assembly approve Resolution 25-14R, enabling certain unincorporated communities and their respective native village councils or incorporated nonprofits to participate in the FY community assistance program and to administer an additional portion of the annual payment.
Manager Emily Deetsch told the committee the municipality receives a standard payment from the formula each year and that designating a local nonprofit or native village allows the municipality to pass along the extra allocation for use in the unincorporated community. The resolution is procedural in nature and will accompany the online application for the program.
Committee action: Potter moved the recommendation and the committee voted in favor to forward the resolution to the full assembly for approval.
