Staff noted the municipality previously requested CPV funds for this work and that the project had been included as part of a BRIC match; prior requests sought $2 million and the total match if phase‑2 funding is available would be $8.5 million, while staff has set aside roughly $15 million in the port fund for possible use. Manager Dietz said the CPV pot has substantial balance and could help offset port fund expenditures so vessel impact fee revenue can be used for other port needs.
The committee moved to amend the resolution language to read 'rock slide mitigation for port safety' and voted to recommend the amended Resolution 26‑xx to the assembly. Manager Dietz reminded the committee that the portal for these requests opened and that submissions are due by Feb. 20.
The recommendation will be forwarded to the assembly for formal action; staff said the resolution can be amended at the assembly if needed.
