Vice Mayor Potter moved to enter executive session to discuss matters required to be confidential, specifically "discussion with borough attorney regarding Hosford versus the Municipality of Skagway," and asked that Manager Dietrich, Clerk Burnham, Deputy Clerk Carr and attorney Bob Lasko be admitted (Lasko by Zoom). The motion was seconded and passed on a 5-0 roll call.
The mayor announced when the Assembly returned to open session at 6:16 p.m. that the attorney had been given direction on the matter. No substantive details about the litigation or legal advice were disclosed in open session because the discussion was held under the statutory executive-session exception for confidential legal matters.
The Assembly did not take any additional public action on the case at the meeting. No schedule for further public proceedings was announced by the mayor or clerk during the session.
