At its Nov. 20 meeting the Skagway Municipality Assembly approved several routine but consequential items: an amended comment letter on the Cascade Point Ferry Terminal stage 1 CUP, confirmation of mayoral appointments, and renewal of the clinic executive director’s contract.
Vice Mayor Potter moved to amend the first paragraph of the Cascade Point comment letter to add the word "presumably" to clarify that stage 1 prepares an access road and staging area that would "presumably" support future construction phases; the assembly approved the amended letter on roll call (6 yes).
The assembly then confirmed mayoral appointments to boards, commissions and committees as listed in the packet (roll call recorded unanimous yes). Later the assembly approved renewal of the clinic executive director’s contract (motion by Potter, second by Pomeroy) on a unanimous roll-call vote.
These votes followed committee recommendations (ports and harbor, finance) and were presented to the assembly as packet items. The manager said staff will follow up on any procedural next steps for confirmations and contract processing.
What happens next: the clerk will file the amended comment letter for the Cascade Point stage 1 CUP; confirmed appointees and the renewed clinic executive director’s contract will be processed per municipal personnel and appointment procedures.
