Committee forwards five scope clarifications for Garden City project to assembly

Chair Alex Waddell read five items the committee wanted memorialized for the assembly: confirm that alleys are designated in the approved conceptual plan; ask staff to identify the maximum available deadline from the engineer (without delaying the project) and relay that schedule to the Skagway Traditional Council about lot designations; note that some scope questions are already addressed by the conceptual design; remove the words "mobile home" from plan language to avoid implying an RV or mobile-home park; and examine minimum-lot-width conflicts (the approved concept showed 30-foot lots while the residential zone's minimum is 50 feet) and consider overlay zoning or other code solutions.
Manager Deetsch and staff said the draft scope can proceed to the assembly while those issues are resolved through design and code work; the committee approved forwarding the five clarifications in a recommendation to the assembly by voice vote.
What’s next: The committee will forward the five recommended clarifications to the assembly and asked staff to incorporate the requested schedule and wording changes in the scope package that goes to the assembly.
