Bruce (planning staff) said the work would consist of mowing and hand removal, off‑site debris disposal, then two herbicide applications timed to seasonal growth. He characterized the contractor as experienced and said the company performed similar work elsewhere in the state.
Commissioner Robert Eisner emphasized strict adherence to product labels and use instructions: "All pesticides and herbicides have strict label and use instructions. When used in accordance with those, they're safe," he said. Commissioners asked staff to ensure the contractor holds appropriate licensing and follows label and application protocols; staff indicated they will relay that guidance to the contractor and monitor the work under the existing permit framework.
The commission raised no objection to the proposed plan provided it follows label instructions and licensing requirements; staff will coordinate contractor communications and flag any concerns to the commission.
