The Fergus County Commissioners approved the 01/09/2026 claims by voice vote after the Treasurer moved to approve them and a committee member seconded the motion.
At the meeting the Treasurer said, "I move to approve the claims," and a committee member responded with a second. The Chair called for the vote and recorded ayes; the motion passed by voice vote. No roll-call vote or tallied counts were recorded in the transcript.
The Chair said a local insurance request for qualifications (RFQ) would remain tabled. The Chair added that the membership of the county's insurance pool will determine the disposition of that RFQ at the county's annual meeting in February.
During the public comment period a speaker reported that a fire-related resolution had been completed and that county GIS staff were mapping affected areas; the speaker indicated at least one public hearing would be required before any tax-base changes related to that resolution could proceed.
The Chair closed routine business by announcing upcoming meeting dates, including Jan. 21 and Feb. 10 at 02:00. No appointments were reported at this session.
