On technology, the board approved a Google for Education Plus subscription to enhance security and collaboration tools and authorized a three-year renewal and expansion of IXL licenses to add ELA, science and social studies for secondary grades. One board member abstained on the IXL vote; the motion carried with three yes votes and one abstention.
Labor and compensation items included ratifying a memorandum of understanding with the California School Employees Association (Monrovia chapter 20) and tentative agreements that provide retroactive and base salary adjustments for the 2024–25 school year; the board recorded approvals across the bargaining items.
The board also approved a one-year memorandum of understanding with the Boys & Girls Club of the Foothills to operate the district’s after-school and summer programs from Aug. 13, 2025, to June 30, 2026. Staff said a previous agenda posting had mistakenly listed the contract as three years; the posted item was corrected to one year before the meeting.
