Board approves multiple contracts to advance facilities work, including Braddock rebuild items and ADA evaluation

The Monrovia Unified School District board approved a package of facilities-related contracts and construction steps intended to move Measure M projects forward, including items tied to the Braddock Elementary rebuild.
The board accepted a notice of completion for Red Hawk Services' elementary school fence improvement project and ratified contracts for low-voltage consulting (Clearphase LLC) to develop an RFP for integrated communications (PAs, bells, clocks, access control). The board also approved an agreement with Bureau Veritas to perform an ADA self-evaluation and transition plan for district sites.
For the Braddock Elementary School rebuild pathway, trustees approved American Engineering Laboratories for materials testing and inspection services and California Construction Services for Inspector of Record (IOR) services. The board also approved an agreement with JLJ Cobb Inc. for restoration work at Bridal Oaks Elementary School tied to that rebuild effort.
Board members asked staff to keep community members informed about DSA approvals and timelines and to schedule work so projects advance when school is not in session. All motions carried by roll call, 5-0.
District staff emphasized that these contract approvals are steps to keep the district ready to proceed quickly once DSA and other approvals are in place. Parents and local stakeholders following the Bridal Oaks/Braddock projects were thanked for their patience.
