Anthem leaders highlight Main Street businesses, events and volunteer projects

"We're a town of less than 500 people... it's over 25 businesses," Baldwin said, describing commercial activity on Main Street and grant- and private-donation-funded improvements at the community event center.
Amy McFarland, representing the Anthem Community Development Corporation, said the volunteer organization funds small projects and family-friendly events — from a Christmas carnival to the annual fall market that draws thousands of visitors. McFarland said ACDC aims to invest roughly $10,000 yearly in local projects such as ballpark improvements and shade structures for the comfort of children and visitors.
Council members and volunteers noted that grants and local fundraising have been critical to recent improvements and encouraged residents to attend events and support small businesses on Main Street.
No formal county actions were taken during the update; it served as background on local economic and civic activity.
