"This is gonna make all 3 of our small pump stations have the same exact pumps," a staff member said, adding that the commission will request spares to keep on the shelf.
Staff estimated equipment lead times at about two months and a total of roughly six months before bills are received and paid. Funding for the work was identified in a prior capital request (money set aside at a special town meeting), and the commission voted to authorize procurement so the contractor can order equipment and schedule work.
Commissioners asked staff to compile a clear capital‑improvements list and timeline so the board and public can track priorities and progress; staff agreed to post and share such a prioritized list.
The motion to approve the upgrades was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Next steps include placing orders for pumps and VFDs, scheduling electrical work, and posting an updated capital‑improvements schedule for the commission and public.
