Mayor James previews spring cleanup, expanded Movies on Main and summer events in St. Albans podcast

The mayor said the city will hold its spring cleanup from April 27 through May 8, split into two weeks by ward, with the first week covering the first five wards and the second covering the remaining wards. "If they missed something ... they can come back and get it," he said, adding that residents should call the city if an item was not collected.
The podcast host described this year’s festival theme as "Nature's Wonders" and said the events are designed for all ages. Mayor James praised local volunteers — singling out "Debbie" and "Patty Swango" — for their regular contributions to parades and programming. "Debbie does a fantastic job," he said.
Looking ahead to summer programming, Mayor James said Movies on Main will expand from four screenings last year to "five or six" this year, pending confirmation of one remaining date. "Music will be playing early ... and then the movie will start at dark," he said. The host encouraged listeners to watch the city events calendar for finalized dates.
The mayor also announced a pub crawl to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association scheduled for May 2 (the same day as a citywide yard event) and previewed Yacht Fest, which will include music on the river.
