Matt presented a proposed five-year contract renewal with Wintel to provide internet service at three county locations (the county courthouse, the MSU Extension building and the airport/AM Control facility). He said the vendor offered "a 20% discount for a term of 5 years" and that the table in the packet lists monthly amounts per site; he reaffirmed that site rates are monthly and noted they vary by location.
Board members clarified the totals in the packet: after discussion the commissioners indicated the combined monthly total for the three sites is $592.70. Matt said he is also pursuing a quote for a second internet service provider to provide failover redundancy for critical county services.
The board moved, seconded and approved the Wintel contract renewal by voice vote. The contract will be processed through the appropriate procurement and IT channels.
