The McLean County Finance Committee on March 5 approved a resolution to amend funded full‑time equivalent positions and add a half‑time volunteer recruiter/trainer for the county's CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) program.
Administrator Cassie Taylor explained that surrounding counties in the 11th Judicial Circuit have requested McLean County CASA's assistance and that the added half‑time position would support volunteer recruitment and training to serve those needs. Mary Pat Frugal Anderson (administrator of the CASA program) was present for questions, and members praised the program's work and the proposed expansion.
The resolution passed on a voice vote. The action increases the county's funded staffing to allow the CASA program to scale recruitment and training efforts across the circuit, with the expectation that program staff will report back to the committee as necessary.
