Colleagues responded with extended tributes describing DeMichele’s long record of civic service on the school board, in regional transportation leadership and in human services organizations. Councilmembers praised her work on youth services, transit committees and nonprofit partnerships and said they expect to follow the council’s appointment process to fill the seat.
