Mark Aguilera, the city’s chief waterways officer, said the vessel will offer a free, mobile pump‑out service to boaters, improving water quality by enabling marina users to have holding tanks pumped without traveling to fixed stations. He told commissioners the city currently maintains four free, stationary pump‑out stations and expects high use of the mobile vessel.
Commissioners thanked the association and partners and recognized the donation as part of the city’s broader commitment to waterway health.
