The Mount Clemens City Commission authorized execution of the fiscal year 2019 Specialized Services Operating Assistance Program third‑party contract between the Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation (SMART) and the City of Mount Clemens, city staff said.
City staff told the commission the contract is identical to the FY2018 agreement and has been reviewed by the city attorney’s office. The contract outlines obligations for funds from MDOT through SMART to provide public transportation services to persons with disabilities and senior citizens.
Commissioner Menser asked for confirmation that there were no fare increases or changes in charges to the city compared with the prior year; city staff confirmed the contract terms remain unchanged.
The commission took roll call and the motion passed on the record. The commission also authorized city officials to execute the contract as presented; the transcript does not show additional conditions attached to the authorization.
