Mount Clemens honors Resolution Center on 25th anniversary

Mayor Dempsey presented a proclamation recognizing the Resolution Center’s 25th anniversary and its mediation work across Macomb, St. Clair, Sanilac, Huron, Lapeer and Tuscola counties, noting the Mount Clemens office, its 65 active volunteers and thousands of cases opened since the center’s founding.
The proclamation credited the center with helping more than 1,900 school-based disputes through peer mediation and reported more than 3,100 cases opened in 2017, including the highest annual number of mediations in the organization’s history, according to the text read by the mayor.
A Resolution Center representative accepted the recognition and thanked the commission for support. “We’ve gotten a lot of wonderful volunteers, some very good board members, and we hope to continue here in Mount Clemens for another 25 years,” the presenter said.
Commission members applauded the volunteers and board members in attendance and urged continued partnership between the city and the nonprofit. The presentation concluded with the commission’s formal congratulations and a brief exchange recognizing longtime board member Diane Kish, who was noted as present for the event.
The commission then proceeded with its regular agenda, continuing quarterly department reports and city business.
