The March 2, 2026 student announcements for Monona Grove opened with hosts MJ and Julia leading the pledge of allegiance and sharing morning notices, including that a representative from the University of Wisconsin–Parkside will be available during late lunch and that students should see Miss Boyd in student services for a pass if they have early lunch.
The broadcast introduced a video segment for “Test Taking Tuesday” and featured Pablo Baxter of IBEW Local 159, who explained that the first part of the IBEW apprenticeship application is an aptitude test covering math and reading comprehension. Baxter advised students to prepare by reviewing basic algebra and problem-solving, to manage time during tests by moving past slow problems and returning later, and to use active reading strategies for comprehension questions: “Read the question first so you know what you’re looking for, then read the passage carefully.” He also recommended eliminating clearly wrong answers before choosing a final response.
Announcements continued with a Spanish Club meeting scheduled for March 3 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Room 179, including snacks and a Jeopardy game to learn about Spanish-speaking countries. The program noted MG Show Choirs’ results at the Western Dubuque Invitational — Varsity Silver Connection placed fifth overall and JV Silver Dimension won the prep grand champion title and is ranked the No. 1 prep group in the state — and recognized performers Trevor Jong and Preston Rosing.
The sports desk reminded track athletes to register in Infinite Campus by March 5 to begin practice and told seniors to see coaches Fritz or Jefferson to obtain senior banner order forms and payment information ahead of senior banner photos on March 5. The announcements concluded with the day’s lunch menu and birthday shout-outs.
This transcript is a student-run school announcements program and does not document a civic meeting, formal motions, votes, or government actions.
