Cary council unanimously approves annexation at 2220 Jones Franklin Road

The Cary Town Council unanimously approved annexation of a 0.67-acre parcel at 2220 Jones Franklin Road during the Dec. 11 meeting.
Principal Planner Erin Puckett told council the property is contiguous to Cary’s corporate limits, sits within the town’s extraterritorial jurisdiction, is zoned residential multifamily (RMF), and is developed with a nonconforming detached dwelling. The property owners petitioned for annexation to connect to Cary Water because of issues with their existing well.
No members of the public registered to speak for the hearing, and after opening the hearing and receiving no comments the council moved to approve the annexation. The motion carried unanimously.
Next steps: Staff will proceed with administrative steps to finalize the annexation and utility connection per town procedures.
