Council honors Staff Sergeant Andrew Ramirez with commendations and plaque

Roy Willis of the Community Redevelopment Agency introduced later items, but during the ceremony several speakers, including the LAPD’s chief (identified in the record as Chief Gaston), commended Ramirez’s actions and character. The chief said the department welcomed Ramirez back and offered him a job with the Los Angeles Police Department when he leaves the military. Ramirez briefly thanked the city and his family, saying he was grateful for the support and that he would consider the offer.
The presentation drew warm remarks from council members and applause; the council then proceeded to other business on the regular agenda.
