Council moves forward on Granada Hills PBID after clerk reports protest below threshold

Cheryl Ford, speaking on behalf of the Granada Hills Improvement Association, thanked the council and staff for support and recognized the work of Council Member Hal Bernsen’s office and the special assessments unit staff. Ford invited council members to a BID summit scheduled for June 26 at California State University, Northridge.
Several property and business owners also spoke in favor of the BID. Speakers described the three‑year formation effort and urged the council to approve the PBID so the district can pursue redevelopment and increase local commercial vitality.
After hearing the public testimony, the council closed the public hearing for the item. The clerk’s report and the public input established the administrative record to proceed under the tabulation rule the clerk described.
