The Shakopee Board of Adjustment and Appeals completed its officer elections at the start of the March 5 meeting, electing Noreen Redding as chair. A commissioner nominated Redding for chair; her nomination was seconded and she was approved by voice vote.
Mostafa Sandhu was nominated and elected vice chair after a voice vote that board members characterized as a 5–1 outcome during the exchange; Commissioner Weiler was later nominated and elected second vice chair.
After the officer elections the meeting was turned over to Chair Noreen Redding, who opened a public hearing and presided over the remainder of the meeting.
In other business, planning staff told the board that conditional-use permits revoked at a prior meeting have been appealed by the property owner’s law firm and are tentatively scheduled for the April 7 City Council meeting. Staff noted the appeals will take significant staff time and that one appellant indicated an intent to apply for a new CUP.
A commissioner moved to adjourn the meeting and the board approved the motion; a tentative next meeting date of April 9 was mentioned during the adjournment discussion.
