Councilors discussed the strategic value of adding Main Street parcels and asked staff to request additional acreage from the county if any locality is willing to cede a portion. "If I'm able to get additional acreage on me, would you all like to see all of Main Street added to the Enterprise Zone?" staff asked; councilors responded in the affirmative and moved to submit the proposed package with a request to include Main Street West and nearby qualifying parcels if county acreage can be reallocated.
The council’s motion passed; staff will prepare required materials and coordinate public hearings and the IDA/county review to satisfy Virginia Enterprise Zone amendment procedures.
