"Same day, I mean, within hours it was fixed," Richards said, commending the professionalism of the employees.
Becky Winecoop spoke after the commission pulled consent item 6.2. She said she listened to the earlier workshop and urged the commission to consider construction sequencing that allows sidewalks to be replaced overnight (as was done on Park Avenue). She also raised downtown parking concerns for elderly customers at a thrift shop on Orange Street and suggested stronger or solar lighting in the alley to enable cross-parking from the bank lot to support nearby small businesses.
What happens next: the commission approved item 6.2 after public comment, and staff were reminded to keep business continuity in mind as downtown construction and groundbreakings move ahead.
