On Jan. 27 the City Commission ratified two previously approved travel and attendance items after staff clarified errors in the meeting materials and corrected a vendor name.
City Attorney Booker read resolutions ratifying prior consensus approvals for attendance at the Nahon Leadership Summit and the U.S. Conference of Mayors. Commissioner concerns centered on inconsistent memo language (a registration fee referenced as both $2,250 and $5.88) and an unclear vendor name. Clerk Slattery agreed to correct the resolution and agenda to reflect the legal name "Q‑Q Research Consultants LLC" as requested by a resident and a commissioner.
Both ratifications were carried by roll call. On the second ratification (item 8d, for U.S. Conference of Mayors attendance), Vice Mayor Bustamante recorded a No vote; other commissioners voted Yes.
City Manager Sargis and staff emphasized these ratifications were for expenses previously approved by consensus and already covered in the existing budget. The city said it would correct agenda and resolution language going forward and improve memo vetting procedures to avoid future confusion.
The commission recorded the corrections for the public record and asked the clerk to update the official documents.
