Lee County commissioners approve license transfer, polling-place moves and construction change orders

The commission also approved two polling-place changes. Because of campus changes at Auburn Community Church, the polling location will move to the City of Auburn Lake Wilmore Recreation Facility. For a May 19 graduation conflict at Beulah High School, the polling location will move to Beulah Baptist; staff inspected the site and confirmed ADA compliance.
County staff presented two change orders for the Davis Justice Center project. The first, approximately $138,000, would change casework and other courtroom features to accommodate holding court on the first floor and allow more people into those courtrooms; the second addresses a witness-stand line-of-sight issue upstairs and did not have a final cost listed at the meeting. The county representative recommended approval and commissioners approved the change orders.
Patrick Harbel told the commission that the Deerfield Oaks subdivision in Beauregard completed its two-year maintenance period; the county accepted Lee Road 2228 and Lee Road 2229 for permanent maintenance. Before the motion to accept the roads, Commissioner LeGrand asked the room to observe a moment of silence for victims of the Boyer Guard tornadoes.
