County approves moving forward with ALDOT federal-aid agreement to resurface Pierce Road (Lee Road 427)

He said the agreement allows the county to use federal funds at an 80/20 match and that ALDOT would take the project to public bid; the project was budgeted and the packet included a cost breakdown.
Staff provided a preliminary total project estimate of $993,600, with the county match calculated at just under $200,000 and the federal portion at about $795,000. Mr. Hardy praised staff work keeping the project moving despite engineering department staff changes.
Next steps: approving the funding agreement authorizes ALDOT to pursue bids; the county would consider awarding a vendor after bids are received and evaluated.
