During the public forum, Denise Weiss of Royalton Township urged the Pine County Board to pursue light-mitigation measures from planning and zoning after residents observed an "orange glow" over nearby homes.
"We still had the orange glow last night shining brightly over our homestead," Weiss said, adding she had submitted data and paperwork to the county about historic and current light levels. She asked the board to "put some type of mitigation in place if this is being allowed in residential areas."
The chair accepted the comment and no immediate action was taken during the meeting; Weiss asked the board to continue pursuing the matter through planning and zoning.
