Scott County commissioners used the meeting to clear several routine agenda items and formal votes, including personnel, contracts, and an appointment.
The board approved a resolution authorizing a hand-tool reimbursement program for county highway mechanics; the chair called for a motion, a second was recorded, and the motion passed by voice vote. Commissioners also moved to appoint Steve Myers to represent the county on the River Hills redevelopment board; the motion carried.
On environmental compliance, commissioners approved an engineering agreement with Clark Dietz to prepare a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan for the transfer station and to submit the plan to the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM). The chair was authorized to sign the contract.
Addressing a payroll/ordinance mismatch, commissioners approved paying a part-time transfer-station worker who had worked in December by treating the worker as an independent contractor (1099) and authorizing payment of approximately $340. Commissioners recorded unanimous support for the action to avoid labor problems while aligning with salary-ordinance limits.
The board also authorized a support letter for the Lexington Fire Department’s annual 5K race to the Indiana Department of Transportation permitting office and tabled a radio-equipment resolution from the sheriff (which included serial numbers for radios) until staff could clarify departmental coverage.
The meeting closed after approval of regular invoices, payroll, and minutes.
