Elmore County Commission approves athletic plaza bid, consent docket and personnel changes

At its Feb. 10 meeting the Elmore County Commission unanimously approved minutes and warrants, awarded bid inquiry 2025-PW9 for Elmore County High School Athletic Plaza improvements to the lowest responsible bidder, and approved a consent docket that included surplus sheriff's vehicles and several personnel changes.
The Elmore County Commission on Feb. 10 approved routine business and a construction contract for school athletics-area improvements as commissioners moved through the agenda.
By unanimous roll call, the commission approved the minutes for the Jan. 27, 2025 meeting and the memorandum of warrants for Jan. 18–Jan. 31, 2025. Commissioners Hines, Davis, Chairman Mercer, Hill and Jackson all voted yes on those items.
The commission then voted unanimously to award bid inquiry 2025-PW9 — improvements to the Elmore County High School Athletic Plaza — to the lowest responsible bidder. Chairman Mercer moved the award; the motion was seconded and approved 5–0.
The consent docket was approved as presented and included: a travel memorandum; authorization to declare certain sheriff's department vehicles surplus and to sell them through GovDeals; and a revised job description for the EMA deputy director. The commission also received personnel notifications covering promotions (Amoryon Hampton to deputy effective Jan. 27, 2025; Cameron Beatriz promoted to deputy effective Jan. 30, 2025), transfers (Austin Wilson; Lee Green), resignations (Hayden Lohman effective Jan. 27, 2025; Kathy Howell effective Feb. 6, 2025; M Shane Pittman effective Feb. 20, 2025), and the retirement of David Brunson, EMA deputy director (effective Feb. 28, 2025).
Other agenda items discussed but not voted on included reappointment candidates for the Central Elmore Water and Sewer Authority (William Newton) and the Elmore Water and Sewer Authority (Theodore Robert Ward), and a proposed appointment to the CareStar Health Board (Rashaan Blassingame), with appointment deadlines in late February and March.
The meeting adjourned after commissioners shared reports and calendar reminders.
