Arts staff reported at the Feb. 4 Surprise Arts & Culture Advisory Commission meeting that the city has started multi-month restoration work on several public art pieces and that the new public-art installation 'Confuencia' at the Community Resource Center has broken ground and will take about four months to install. A traffic-cabinet reception is scheduled at Arts HQ the following day from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Staff also presented a video recap and professional photos from the 'Roots of Creation' festival; staff estimated about 600 people attended the festival and said the first-year event will be repeated. Staff invited commissioners to the traffic-cabinet reception and encouraged commissioners to help publicize upcoming community events. No formal action or appropriation followed this report.
