King County RPC adopts 2026 committee work program after members press for earlier, deeper levy data

The King County Regional Policy Committee on Feb. 11 adopted RPC resolution RPC 202601, which approves the committee work program for 2026.
Miranda Laskinan of County Council Policy Staff presented the resolution and accompanying attachment A, noting that attachment A reflects member-requested edits and a tracked-changes comparison to the adopted 2025 program. "Good afternoon for the record. I'm Miranda Laskinan with County Council Policy Staff," she said while summarizing the materials and technical cleanup edits in section 2 of the draft work program.
During discussion several members asked staff to provide more detailed data earlier in levy and reporting processes. Mayor Pavoni said, "It would be extremely helpful for us to receive data that's a little deeper with, you know, goals and measurable outcomes included," and urged earlier distribution of ZIP-code-level information and outcome measures. Deputy Mayor Arnold added that standardizing how goals and outcomes are measured in annual reports would better show year-to-year benefits and support future levy renewal discussions; she noted the next levy renewal cycle is expected in 2027.
Mayor Ralph moved to adopt the resolution; the clerk called the roll and recorded aye votes. The clerk summarized the roll call result as "11 ayes with 1 council member excused." The motion passed with a do-pass recommendation.
Members also thanked staff for incorporating the Sound Cities Association's feedback into the work program. The committee adjourned after completing the meeting agenda.
