King County Council adopts consent agenda, confirms appointments and accepts reports

The Metropolitan King County Council voted to adopt consent agenda items 7 through 11 at its Feb. 10 meeting, confirming several appointments and accepting reports.

The clerk read the items into the record: a motion acknowledging receipt of the third annual report on the "Second Best Starts for Kids" initiative; approval of the 2024 mental illness and drug dependency evaluation summary report; confirmation of the executive’s appointment of Laura Zakyn to the Harborview Medical Center Board of Trustees as the District 8 representative; confirmation of Minh Du Quynh to the Citizens Election Oversight Committee as a representative of the Vietnamese-speaking community (substitute motion); and confirmation of Bridal Malek to the Harborview Medical Center Board as a District 7 representative.

Vice Chair Jorge Baron moved the consent agenda. The clerk then called the roll: eight members voted aye and Councilmember Mosqueda was recorded as excused. The clerk announced the result as "8 ayes" and the clerk read the adopted proposed motion numbers as presented by staff.

The council moved on after the vote; no separate debate or recorded amendments on the consent items were made on the floor.
