Mayor Barb Dempsey presented a proclamation honoring Ed Morissette for longstanding service to Mount Clemens as a police officer and as a member — including chair — of the Traffic Safety Committee. The proclamation noted Morissette retired as a lieutenant in 1978 and had been involved with the committee since its inception in 1966.
Morissette accepted the recognition and said, "It's been a fantastic ride. I've enjoyed every minute of my involvement with this city... I take a lot of good memories." Commissioners in attendance congratulated him and thanked committee members who came to support him.
