Kristal Roa summarized prior installations and artists: the idea arrived in 2019 from local artist Michael Stutz, early work was installed by Ron Junko, a second chair by Christopher Polentz (installed 2022, later removed), and lounge-style pieces by Nancy Schultz displayed near Batiquitos Lagoon. Roa said the program aims to place temporary works across the city’s four districts and to solicit regional artists.
Commissioner Carrillo moved to appoint Commissioners Bridal and Nasiri to the public-art subcommittee; Commissioner Ferroni seconded the motion. The minutes clerk recorded the appointments as unanimous. Staff said the call for artists will be released in April, the application window will be about four weeks, and the subcommittee expects to convene May 13 at 5:30 p.m. to select artists for the project.
