Resident urges traffic light at Lake Flower Drive intersection after new development creates blind spots

A long-time Flower Mound resident asked the council to act on a traffic safety problem at the intersection adjacent to Lake Flower Drive, saying new commercial construction and access lanes have created dangerous blind spots for drivers turning into his neighborhood.
"On my commute home from work, turning left onto my street has become a nightmare," Jim O'Connor said. "When two cars sit in their respective left turn lanes facing each other, neither can see the oncoming traffic ... It's like playing Russian roulette with rush hour traffic." He asked the council to help install a traffic signal at the intersection to restore visibility and reduce risk.
The chair acknowledged public comment rules and said the council would take the remarks "into consideration" and look into the matter; there was no formal council action on the request during the meeting.
