Denton Public Utility Board unanimously approves consent agenda and minutes, hears water-department memo

The City of Denton Public Utility Board unanimously approved its consent agenda and the minutes from Aug. 25, 2025, at a brief meeting Sept. 15, 2025. The board also heard a short management report from Puente about a water-department memo and paused to recognize the city’s marketing and communications team for recent awards.

Chair called the meeting to order for the City of Denton and asked whether there were any presentations for members of the public; none were offered. The Chair congratulated the marketing and communications staff, saying, "Congratulations to Billy Matthews and his team," after noting the group took home three Savvy awards and a Silver Circle award at the annual City/County Communications and Marketing Association conference.

The board moved to the consent agenda; a motion was made and seconded and the board approved the consent agenda without objection. The board then considered minutes from Aug. 25, 2025; a motion to approve those minutes was seconded and the approval passed unanimously. The record does not specify which board members moved or seconded either action.

For management reports, Chair called on Puente. Puente told the board, "we do have a memo that was provided to you from the water department and the Stephen Gays here and Matt's here as well," and said the department’s future-agenda matrix showed no pending items. No questions were raised about the memo, and the Chair said none of the items required action.
