Council directs staff to scope lowering Hidden Ranch speed limit to 15 mph

Maggie Radford, president of the Hidden Ranch HOA, told the council the neighborhood lacks sidewalks, is a 42‑home loop with tight turns and limited sight lines, and therefore wants a 15 mph neighborhood speed limit for safety of children, pedestrians and cyclists. Councilor Beaman moved to direct the town manager to draft a brief scoping report to analyze a 15 mph speed limit in Hidden Ranch and add it to an agenda within 60 days; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
Council direction asked the town manager to coordinate with public works and the police department; the mayor noted staff may return with a different professional recommendation but that the request as worded (a 15 mph study) should be scoped for council consideration.
