City Clerk Candace Alvarez opened nominations for mayor; McGee received unanimous support in a roll call that named the nominee. McGee then presided and opened nominations for mayor pro tem; Timothy Sheridan was elected by roll call. Council members offered brief remarks thanking outgoing mayor Brian Tisdale for his year in office and presenting a small token of appreciation.
Newly seated Mayor McGee thanked colleagues for their confidence and said he looks forward to another productive year. The council closed the reorganization and moved on to other business.
