At the open public hearing the city clerk confirmed statutory notices were posted and the city received no written protests. After the hearing the council adopted a resolution annexing the territory and calling elections for the CFD. The clerk reported that ballots were cast and that each ballot proposition was approved by more than two‑thirds of the votes cast for CFD No. 2015‑2.
Following receipt of the clerk’s certificate of election results, the council approved a separate resolution certifying the results of the 12/09/2025 special tax elections. The council also waived further reading and introduced an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 2016‑139 (as it applies to the CFD) to authorize the levy of special taxes; the ordinance introduction was approved by roll call (motion carried 5–0).
Council members noted the election process was complete with no protests and that next steps include finalizing ordinance language and recording necessary documents.
