Brookhaven council approves temporary easements for Caldwell Road multiuse path

The Brookhaven City Council approved option agreements to accept temporary construction easements needed for the Caldwell Road multiuse path.
Public Works staff described two sets of agreements: a completed option agreement for Parcel 10 (a temporary construction easement on Caldwell Road) and option agreements for Parcels 11–14 on the north side of Caldwell Road that will support construction of the multiuse path. Staff noted some encroachments into front yards on parcels 11–14 and explained the city’s process for negotiating temporary easements.
Council moved to approve the Parcel 10 easement and later moved to approve the easements for Parcels 11–14; both motions were seconded and approved by voice vote. The public works representative said these are option agreements that have been executed and now require council resolution to accept the agreement.
"The first one is for what we call Parcel 10. It's for a temporary construction easement on Caldwell Road and that's been executed," the Public Works speaker said when summarizing the packet items. Council members then voted to accept the agreements so staff could proceed with right-of-way work and path construction.
Next steps: staff will pursue final documentation, coordinate any required homeowner notifications about the temporary construction easements and proceed with the multiuse path procurement and scheduling.
