Public works staff recommended awarding the city’s annual sewer pipeline inspection and cleaning contract to BCAC Underground LLC at $274,740 — the lowest of eight bids — for the city’s roughly 225 miles of gravity sewer. The work, required under EPA capacity‑management rules, covers roughly one‑tenth of the system per year and will inform future rehabilitation priorities.
Other consent items previewed included purchase of NiAll network equipment and services through Omnia (approx. $71,415.24), purchase of fiber replacement materials from Millennium (waiver to bid up to $50,000 for compatibility with existing infrastructure), and bids for police vehicle graphics/installation and painting with a combined total of $125,070.44.
Staff said these items are routine and recommended for placement on the consent agenda; no formal votes were recorded at the briefing.
