Sage Creek Dance Department showcases grant‑supported ballet program, plans April and May performances

Sarah Eichler, Visual and Performing Arts Department Chair at Sage Creek High School, told the Arts Commission that the department’s new "Building Ballet Foundations" program uses grant funds to teach foundational ballet technique to students without prior dance backgrounds and to prepare two public performances.
"We decided to start a program called building building ballet foundations, elevating dance technique and performance process," Eichler said, describing in‑class technique work and guest instruction from a company dancer teaching Progressing Ballet Technique. She said the program included visits to a professional company performance and that the culminating presentations will appear at the school’s Artfest on April 2 and in a May production that assembles Dance levels 2–4.
Program manager Crystal Roa noted the department has received the Carlsbad Arts Grant annually since 2014 and thanked the commission for continued support. Commissioners thanked Eichler and said they looked forward to attending the performances.
The presentation was informational; no action was required.
