Board confirms local emergency from winter storm, convenes closed session on prospective business

A resident (speaker 11) described the concern and the board asked staff to prepare a resolution for a speed study for consideration the following month.
The board then voted to enter closed session under Va. Code § 2.2‑3711(A)(5) to discuss with Franklin‑Southampton Economic Development Incorporated a prospective business or expansion for which no prior public announcement has been made. After the closed session the board returned to open session, adopted the required certification under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act and each member recorded an affirmative vote by roll call (Cornwell, White, Faison, Gillette and the presiding member recorded "yes").
