Radio project amendment: The board approved an amendment to a memorandum of understanding with the City of Franklin for a regional radio/public‑safety communications project. The amendment specifies that any grant funds received to enhance the shared communications network will be split 50/50 between the city and county, regardless of which party obtained the grant. Staff said the county's share of project costs is approximately 67% of expenses and that a 50/50 split of grant receipts was viewed as equitable and administratively simpler.
Work sessions scheduled: County administrators proposed recurring work sessions to provide more informal discussion time. The board agreed to try quarterly work sessions and scheduled the first for Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 6 p.m., tentatively at the Rawls Museum/Arts center. Board members said sessions would be open to the public but limited in length and would avoid formal votes unless emergency action was required.
