Commission approves manager recommendations; clerk corrects CJ Hughes contract amount and staff highlight RingCentral phone contract and water-main award

Clerk Miss McClendon notified the commission of a typo on the posted agenda for the CJ Hughes Construction Company service agreement: the correct amount is $3,997,134.13, not $33,997,134.13.
Deputy City Manager Miss Lofton then called attention to two investments on the commission calendar. She described a five-year technology services agreement with RingCentral Inc. to replace the city's voice-over-IP phone system, saying the replacement is urgently needed because the current system will reach the end of its useful life and lose vendor support. "The total cost of this 5 year agreement, will not exceed $1,330,000," Lofton said.
Lofton also detailed a major water-infrastructure investment: a $3,990,000 award to CJ Hughes Construction for installation of a 36-inch water main along Radvansky Lane. She said the project is financed through the Ohio EPA's DIFA Loan Program and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law as a principal-forgiveness loan with full reimbursement anticipated, and that the project is the third and final phase of a new redundant connection for the Miami Well Field with completion expected in mid-2027.
After the presentations, the commission moved and seconded to approve the city manager's recommendations. The motion was approved by voice vote ('Aye').
