Council approved an ordinance authorizing the city to declare a portion of a previously acquired property surplus and to enter a purchase-and-sale agreement with Hank Holdings LLC for 15.23 acres. Shane Davis, director of urban economic development, told the council the city purchased about 16.7 acres for $3,286,200 and planned to retain roughly 1.5 acres for an adjoining project. “So what you're approving tonight is to sell 15.2 acres at the same price we purchased it for,” Davis said, adding that retail and restaurant users are in negotiation and that developers will disclose specific tenants once contracts are executable.
