Council approves Class C liquor license and manager application for Valentini's

Hastings City Council approved resolution 2026-69 to grant a Class C liquor license to Niza Martinis LLC doing business as Valentini's at 3609 Cimarron Plaza, Suite 135, after a brief public hearing and a police recommendation.
Council President Huntley opened the public hearing and received one speaker in support, Jay Begbie, who said he would remain available to answer questions for the business. Adam Storey of the Hastings Police Department told the council the department had processed the application for both the business and the proposed manager and "we would recommend approval." The council corrected the suite number on the record before voting.
Council then moved to approve both the liquor license application and the associated manager application listed with the submission. Motions were made and seconded on the floor and both motions passed unanimously, 7-0.
The mayor, who had recused himself for the initial hearing and returned the gavel after the votes, said he looks forward to the business making the downtown area "a vibrant part of the community again" and expected the opening to be about 30 to 45 days away.
