Eric Culbreth sworn in as Albany utility board member; Keisha Collier reappointed and named to long-term finance committee

The Albany Utility Board opened its Feb. 13 meeting by swearing in new member Eric Culbreth and re-administering the oath to Keisha Collier.
Chair introduced Culbreth to the board and invited him to take the oath of office. A city official administered the oath; Culbreth repeated the oath and signed the document. "Congratulations, and we appreciate your willingness to serve the community," the Chair said after the ceremony.
Keisha Collier was re-sworn in during the same ceremony and was later appointed by the board to the city’s long-term finance committee as the utility board’s representative. The motion to appoint Collier passed on roll call.
Board members also noted several recent staff deaths and the Chair asked attendees to stand in memory of five employees, including current and retired staff and members of the GIS and planning departments. Several members and staff described the losses as "devastating for the families and for the employees." The Chair closed the ceremonial portion by thanking staff and welcoming the newly sworn member.
What’s next Collier’s appointment will be noted for the City Commission and Culbreth’s orientation materials are being prepared. The board confirmed that committee membership and orientation items will be carried forward in follow-up communications to members.
